One of things many of my accountability clients struggle with is the social pressure from others to step out of their health commitments. This often looks like consuming food or alcohol that is not aligned with their health goals. I have experienced this myself and know how tough it can be.

How to respond and stand up for what you believe in:
- Find like-minded people
- Explain with confidence and be assertive - no thanks and not for me
- Think of an excuse
- Suggest something else to do
- Avoid certain situations
- Stand up for others
- Ask questions of the other person – deflect
- Be repetitive
- Consider the results of giving in
- Seek support – therapy
